Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) Training Course This RQF training course is designed for people who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary or community activities, to provide first aid when dealing with an emergency situation. It provides learners with the knowledge and skills needed to deal with a range of emergency situations and to demonstrate the practical administration of safe, prompt first aid in emergency situations. Course Content • Understand the Role and Responsibilities of a First Aider • Be Able to Assess an Incident • Be Able to Manage an Unresponsive Casualty Who Is Breathing Normally, Including Recovery Position and Seizures • Be Able to Manage an Unresponsive Casualty Who Is Not Breathing Normally (CPR) • Recognise and Assist a Casualty Who Is Choking • Manage a Casualty Who Is Wounded and Bleeding • Manage a Casualty Who Is in Shock • Understand How to Manage a Casualty with a Minor Injury How the Course is Assessed Each learner must attend the whole course. They will be assessed practically throughout the course and must demonstrate CPR, care of the unconscious casualty, and management of wounds and bleeding. Each learner will also take a theoretical multiple-choice paper. Registered candidates must sign in upon arrival and sign out following completion of the course. Identification must be brought to the course, such as a driver’s licence (plastic card), passport, or ID card.
